An Almanac Begins
The year begins. The road continues.
There's something about January and the new year that makes everyone want to reinvent themselves seemingly overnight... As if the clock ticking forward one minute to a new day- or flipping the calendar to a different year- means something will magically change overnight. I'm not here to reinvent myself. I'm just here to be the same me. But with bigger dreams than last year.
In his infinite wisdom (the kind only he can possess), pDad suggested I start a blog. Said it would be fun. That people might want to follow along on my journey. That maybe, somewhere along the way, it might inspire someone else. So here we are.
Welcome to The Wandering Almanac.
An almanac is a record of seasons, weather, patterns and cycles. It tracks what grows and what doesn't. It remembers what happened- even if you convince yourself it didn't.
This space won't be just event recaps, polished entries or anything... It will be my thoughts that surface when the world is sleeping and I'm wide awake sorting through what happened.
I travel to Renaissance faires, fantasy festivals, and everything in-between. I haul leather and dreams across state lines while questioning every single life decision at least twice a day. I build, tear down, doubt, try again. There are wins, and flops. Lots of long drives under a sky that feels entirely too big. Lots of wins, and failures, and entirely too many things that happen that matter more than they should.
And all of it belongs here. This almanac will hold:
-The faires
-The leather
-The experiments
-The numbers I don't always want to look at
-The small victories
-The hard lessons
-The in between seasons
-And so so much more
If you're reading this, buckle up and join me on my journey. Let's travel this together as I write it all down- Partly for you, partly for me, but mainly because pDad thought it would be fun.
